The little one and I had fun doing art this morning. She’s only 2.5 (as of today), so “art” is rather subjective — but then isn’t it always? This is really a fun activity for little bitty ones (but older kids will enjoy it, too): Tape a large piece of paper to the floor (I used the back side of a roll of gift wrap), convince your child to lie down on it, then trace around him/her.

The “convincing” part took a little work. The independent Miss L had zero interest in lying on the kitchen floor, and especially not on a piece of paper taped to the kitchen floor. We doodled around for a while before she finally acquiesced — and then she wanted to do it over and over again.  She really had fun drawing her features on “her” face. We also traced around our hands and feet, in addition to just doodling/scribbling.

Nothing fancy but the kind of fun I should build into every day.

OOOOOO! What a great idea! Wonder if my three year old will cooperate? Hmm. I love kid art. Mine have theirs hanging in the house in frames. It’s the best!

This picture is so cute. I just bought some big paper yesterday so I can finger paint with Isaiah. Wish me luck and hope it doesn’t end up in his mouth!
