I have spent much of the past two days working on this, a tee pee for my sweetie. It was challenging, to say the least. For one, I decided to modify it so it would look a bit more like the boutique version I saw at market. Two, the sheer volume of fabric to maneuver through my poor sewing machine was exhausting (nearly eight yards). Now that it’s mostly done, I can see things I would do differently next time, like the door and making the panels a wee bit narrower.

I still need to sew the strap for the poles (I’m using a discarded waistband from a skirt project) and I’m planning to make a play mat and some pillows for underneath, to give it real cubby appeal. My Bunnycakes doesn’t seem to mind; she’s spent most of the afternoon hanging out in there, sometimes with a spare parent or brother.

Love it…I am sure she will enjoy that. Those teepees are very expensive online. I love your fabric choices…they’re great for a little girl! 🙂

What a great project! I saw some of these at a craft show a few years ago and it was one of the few things that was actually selling. You did a nice job. Pulling on 8 yards of fabric must have been a workout!
